Great way to look at LI...really is a refueling!! We share a bit more in common in that 2006 was my first LI too!! David Warlick was truly inspiring and I couldn't wait to get back and get everyone else fired up...I was the lone rep from FWA in 2006 but as you saw this year, we bring tons of folks!! I am looking forward to LI12, hope to see you there!!!

Hi Jeff,

Nice blog! Krista Webb-Scheers here..I was Chad Ball's student intern back when he taught at Nasis Middle school in 2005 (grade 8).

I started a class blog this year with my Grade 4 students. It is called The Classroom Connection. I LOVE blogging with my students. It is a wonderful way to flatten the walls of the classroom and learn from our global peers.

We have a ton of fun including our own voicethreads, vokis, and movies....so much technology! We are beginning to Skype now too and it is a fantastic learning tool. What better way to learn about another part of the world, than from our global peers that live there. Check the blog out when you get a sec. http://kwebb.edublogs.org

Take care,
Krista Webb-Scheers

Hey Jeff, you have taken me down memory lane too. One day, I was working with my year 12 class in a small room at school that we call the "pod". When I noticed skype flash up to indicate someone was talking to me.
That person was you as you were registering the names of students who were going to participate in the ms1001 tales global project. I also remember soon after you coming in to our library interactive white board (using the Bridgit conferencing tools),sharing your laptop screen with us,using skype for videoconferencing and talking to us about life in Canada. It was snowing at the time, and the next day we had a video from you, embedded in a wiki, showing the extent of the snow.
Several months later, I was so excited to be asked to teach students at one of your Canadian schools about Australia using skype.
Although I cant get to Memphis, I can read about, revisit my own personal memory lane, and say thank you, to you, for taking me, my classes and school on the start of an incredible journey into the power that online technology can bring to education. We have just gone on and on to more amazing adventures. Thanks, Jeff!

Interesting question and I commented on Jeff's blog that like country music, in order to compete I'm sure it will have to change. Otherwise, there will be the static websites that will like the ease of wikis. However, when info is shared and collaborated on instantly, Wave/Docs and whatever else pops up will continue to improve and I'm sure dominate.
We'll see. Good post, wish I was there in Denver to experience all of this.
Thanks,
Mark
