Our first snow…

January 8, 2007 | | Leave a Comment

We were supposed to start back to school today but, after a rare brown Christmas (we normally have snow in November but there seems to be nothing “normal” about the weather lately), we woke to our first winter storm this morning.  This cancelled school, but for many people (and animals) it was business as usual.

Five years ago I would have enjoyed a whole day off.  This morning, through the connection of technology, I was able to collaborate with colleagues and accomplish a lot of work from home.  Surely the day when we will “teach” from home on snow days can’t be too far off…we are becoming very flat.

This little guy still had work to do.  He was scrounging for seeds under our bird feeder until he was startled up a tree.  Here he checks things out until he deems it safe to come down and continue his meal.

Snowshoes?
