I am not a big fan of fact-based learning, but I am a Math teacher in my REAL teaching life…so I do recognize that our students lack many of the basic mastery of multiplication facts and mental math strategies.

My step-daughter- she is a Math major at our local university – referred me to Timez Attack.  It is a high-end video game (much like the ones the kids love at home) complete with flashy graphics, monsters and dangerous environments that kids battle and overcome by rapidly completing Math multiplication facts.  Kinda cool.
